Where can I take the exam?
Our testing partner, PSI Services, has over 200 locations throughout the U.S. You can find a list of testing center locations near you by entering your zip code on their site here.

When is the exam administered?
Times vary by testing center. PSI centers are never open on Sundays, and many are not open on Saturdays. Most will have at least two available seatings in a day, at 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM. You can see the availability for your exam at a testing center near you using PSI's location tool and during the scheduling process.
Can I take the exam online?
There is a remote proctoring option. Read here for more information on compatibility and rules for remote proctoring.
What is the deadline for taking the exam?
A candidate must schedule and take the examination within 90 calendar days of registering. A candidate who fails to schedule an appointment within 90 days forfeits the application and all fees paid to take the examination. A complete application and full examination fee are required to reapply for the examination.
How much is the exam?
All examination fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. This fee does not include study materials (except the MECH / Sr. MECH).

After you register and pay for the exam of your choice, fill out an Application for Reimbursement of Licensing or Certification Test Fees (VA Form 22-0803). Send the completed application and proof of your payment to your Regional Processing Office.
